Who I Am

Lee Lovell

My name is Lee Lovell and I am a graduating communication major at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

My schooling and work experience have been defining elements of who I am as an aspiring media professional.

Thirteen years ago my parents were looking for a new cars. My mother knew what she wanted and my dad had the experience with cars. One day my dad came home with a Car and Driver magazine and that is where it all began. From then until present, I have been subscribed to as many as four automotive magazines at a time.

There was a point in my life when I wanted to do a career that would make me a lot of money. When I was talking to a mentor of mine about possible career choices he talked about “fire in the belly.” He explained this as having a job that you have a passion for. A job that you can wake up every morning and be excited to go to work.

After reconsidering my possible career paths, I knew that journalism was the field where I would have that “fire in the belly.” For the past two years as I have been focusing my education on journalism I have found that to truly to be the case. My love and passion for journalism has grown as I have had the opportunity to learn and apply the skills of journalism.
